“The future depends on what we do in the present” – Mahatma Gandhi

We’re launching ‘Swachh Car Abhiyan’ today for drivers on our platform. This is an initiative  to encourage our drivers and customers alike to contribute to a cleaner India. The initiative  to promote cleanliness amongst our drivers’ community. In its first phase, the initiative will be live in four major cities of the country including Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai and Kolkata.

The Swachh Car Campaign will run in four phases each being directed at rewarding, evangelizing, motivating our driver partners and encouraging customers to give feedback on cleanliness. We will recognise and reward drivers who have consistent positive feedback on cleanliness as Swachh Car Ambassadors. To help all drivers maintain cleanliness in-cab, we will hand out free Swachh Car kits and enable free car cleaning at the partner relationship centers across these cities. Considering cleanliness as an imperative, the feedback given by customer for the driver will be composite of the cleanliness level of cars, based on which our drivers will earn their incentives. We will also work towards spreading the message of a cleaner India with large partnerships as well as implementation of technology to crowd source quality audits at scale.

Speaking about the initiative, our Chief Operating Officer Pranay Jivrajka said, “At Ola, we take extreme care towards helping our driver partners deliver consistent experience to our customers, beyond the technology platform. Training, audit and cleanliness have always been at the forefront for improved customer experience and is integral to skilling our partners as professionals in the long run. We join the country in promoting the message of cleanliness on this august occasion and we are confident that drivers and customers will participate in this on-going program by doing their bit.”

We’ve always tried to adopt measures which are in coherence with a cleaner ecosystem by first of-its-kind initiatives like training, audit and standardisation of vehicles registered on the platform. Please share your feedback on your rides based on cleanliness to enable quality checks. We’ve recently launched a first-of-its-kind technology on the app in Delhi, to proactively distinguish vehicles based on fuel type and giving users the option to choose only CNG cars for travel within the state, resulting in considerable reduction of carbon footprint from driver partners in the state.
