Ola now has some great news for the frequent Airport travelers. Through a first-of-its-kind MoU between a public utility space and an online mobility platform, Ola will extend its range of mobility solutions to travelers through a designated ‘Ola Zone’ at the Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru (KIAB).
This arrangement will allow Ola driver-partners to park their vehicles inside KIAB premises, with specifically demarcated areas to offer uninterrupted service to travelers arriving in the city with ETAs of less than 3 mins.
This unique model aims to provide a convenient commuting option to hundreds of thousands of travelers who travel to and from the airport everyday. Customers can book an Ola cab from their app on their arrival at KIAB. Their designated cab and driver will be waiting at the ‘Ola Zone’, across the Arrivals gate. Ola has also deputed queue representatives to guide customers towards their cab if need be.
According to Anuj Sahai, Vice President – Alliances at Ola, Ola is the popular choice of millions travelling to and from the airport and the city and airport drops and pickups account for a significant part of booking requests that we receive on any given day. As a result of this MoU, a larger pool of cars will be available for airport travelers with lower ETAs and utmost efficiency. This first of its kind partnership is testament to the transformational mobility experience that we have enabled for millions. We welcome the cooperation of BIAL and look forward to enabling the same level of convenience for our commuters across other cities travelling to and from airports and other public utility spaces in cities everyday, taking us closer to our mission of building mobility for a billion Indians.
The icing on the cake is that Ola is aiming to replicate the same model with other key public utility spaces as well, such as railways stations, bus stations, in Bangalore as well as across the 102 cities it operates in.
