Ride Safe Travel Insurance – Terms & Conditions

Summary of Key Terms

This is a summary of the key terms under the Ride Safe Travel Insurance (“Policy”) offered by ICICI Lombard General Insurance Limited (“ICICI Lombard”) to ANI Technologies Private Limited (“Ola”) subject to the receipt of premium in full in respect of the Insured Persons and the terms, conditions and exclusions of underlying Policy. The covers available under the Policy can be availed by the registered users on the Ola platform (website or mobile application) by selecting the option of trip insurance to insure their trip while booking the cab (“booked cab”) with Ola.

The insurance cover under the Policy will be applicable only to the trips booked through the Ola platform. The Insurance cover under the Policy starts when customer boards the cab and starts the trip, and lasts till the customers alights from the cab and ends the trip. The customer is covered only when he/she is travelling in the booked cab and the accident occurs while he/she or his/her baggage is present in the booked cab subject to other terms and conditions under the policy.

*Travel period: Travel Period means the period of time within the Coverage Period commencing from when the Insured Person leaves for the original departure point to commence the journey in the Common Carrier on which he/she is booked to travel as a passenger, and ending when the Insured Person returns to the original departure point in case of return journey or destination in case of a one way journey, subject to the maximum period of time specified in the Certificate of Insurance.

**Missed Flight:

Missed Flight cover starts when the customer books an Ola Trip and ends when the Ola Trip ends. It is subject to, the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) at the airport being 90 minutes before the scheduled time of flight departure. For Ola Share riders, Missed Flight cover is valid only if the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) at the airport is 120 minutes before the scheduled time of flight departure

Missed Flight cover can be claimed only if the destination is specified as Airport at the time of booking a ride. If the destination is changed to Airport during the ride, “Missed Flight Claim” is not admissible.

Claim Process:

User will have two options for intimating the claim to us:

  1. Through OLA App

Open the OLA app, go to the main menu section and follow as below

  • Choose the ride from “Your Rides‘’ for which you wish to intimate a claim.
  • Tap ‘’Support” from the bottom bar.
  • Tap ‘’Claim Insurance for this ride‘’ from the list of the issues. If you are unable to find click on other help topic and type “claim insurance for this ride” in search option.
  • On next screen, tap on ‘’Claim Insurance‘’ to intimate a claim.
  • On click of claim insurance, user will be redirected to ICICI Lombard website
  • User select the ride and choose for whom user wants to claim (self or co-passenger)
  • On self, user will be ask to select the claim incident
  • On selection of someone else, user will be asked to enter name and mobile number of other passenger. Post submit, user can select claim incident
  • Post selection of incident, user will be asked to upload all relevant developments.
  • Once documents are uploaded successfully, your claim will be registered with ICICI Lombard and user will get the claim reference number for claim status tracking purpose.
  1. ICICI Lombard Website
  • User goes to ICICI Lombard website and selects “OLA claims” from claim section. 
  • On clicks of OLA claims, user will be redirected to claim intimation page where user will be asked to enter trip id and submit.
  • User select the ride and choose for whom user wants to claim (self or co-passenger)
  • On self, user will be ask to select the claim incident
  • On selection of someone else, user will be asked to enter name and mobile number of other passenger. Post submit, user can select claim incident.
  • Post selection of incident, user will be asked to upload all relevant developments.
  • Once documents are uploaded successfully, your claim will be registered with ICICI Lombard and user will get the claim reference number for claim status tracking purpose.
