We are so excited about its awesomeness and are sure that one post is just not going to be enough to delve into every new feature. In the wake of the 2 day auto strike in Bangalore and Delhi, we decided to ply and at auto fares to top that. This wasn’t a very tough call to take against capitalizing on the occasion to rake in the moolah. We just did an internal check on what was our purpose of existence. It was loud and clear- solving the ground transportation problem. And such a day, was not the right day to capitalize. We were conscious about the fact that emergency needs in these two days would be hit- women, kids, senior citizens would face the brunt and we wanted to give it all we had, if possible more.
Feb 20 & 21, by all fair standards were two days of hyperactivity at Ola. Let’s list down for you, what what multiple teams were upto in these two days.
800 entries, 6 categories and a super-accomplished jury makes the IDA ’13 one cool award and we’d like to take a minute to thank you for this. Like all award winners, we too have a speech, but then that really wouldn’t be able to tell you how much we owe you. So let’s skip that part and delve on what won us this?
With our operations in Delhi going full fledged a few months back and a runaway success of Bangalore’s AIRPORT500 offer, it only made sense to create an irresistible offer for the jet-setters from the capital!
We’d like to particularly thank you if you used an Ola this Christmas, on the 24th or 25th. We decided that we shall use Rs 3pkm from every ride on these two days to delight a bunch of kids. We looked around and thought our driver’s kids would be a good place to start!
When we started off in Delhi-NCR, we were sure Gurgaon needed a reliable and convenient way to move around. Anyone in Gurgaon would swear by the city, how the little (read as metro) to no public transport in the city makes it a roaded nightmare! It is said that the unofficial minimum auto fare is 50 bucks!
After Mumbai, we decided to get Happy Hours to Bangalore as well. Between 11 AM and 4 PM everyday, book an Ola by quoting HAPPYOLA and your fare will magically reduce to Rs 15/km as against the regular Rs 21/km, much like the mercury here in Bangalore!
27 million urban Indians use a Smartphone, more than 56% of them access internet on their phones (which is higher than the US, mind you!) and 500,000+ apps on the Android and the iTunes stores each- evidence enough that we have a heavy ‘app’-etite.
